An Evening In The Mountains. 005/100
There are beach people and there are mountain people and I am most definitely the latter. Something about being deep in the forest surrounded by nature re-energizes me and makes me feel alive.It’s comforting, its weird because I was born in Texas, the desert part nowhere near mountains. As a kid I was a obsessed with action/adventure movies like Indiana Jones or Rambo amongst others where the protagonist would have to travel and explore great distances. I also really loved visiting my great grandparents because they had an endless supply of National Geographic magazines and I would just flip through those all day when I would visit and sleepover. I was always in awe of the incredible places, cultures around the world. I have always like looking at how other people live, thats probably why vlogs appeal to me,
Today’s video was a short hike though, a very short one. I didn’t really visit any picturesque places for shooting any worthwhile landscapes but I did get a few photos of my family that I like because they are memories. I also had a few minutes to put the DJI AVATA in the air and rip around the lake for a bit and do some proximity flying, I am really trying to make more time to train on the sticks so I become more proficient doing some trick maneuvers, I love watching Acro fliers but my love is in cinematic drone footage.
I am going to try and visit some of my favorite mountain spots during this vlog series and do more photography, its especially beautiful and vibrant during the fall so I may make an exception and shoot a couple of videos in color then use to show everyone how amazing it looks.
Overall, it was a pretty good day, a family day. I love days where I can balance creativity and family time, thats what really makes me feel accomplished and whole. After the hike we decided to go and see the new Haunted Mansion movie from Disney, definitely worth the watch if you have kids and C’mon Danny Devito was in the film he’s a national treasure, that was a good way to end the day. Im beyond stoked to have reached 5 vlogs in a row and can’t wait to see what the other 95 vlogs hold!
